If you want to become truly the best service desk and most excellent service desk manager follow these quick tips.





Patience:
Patience is important for any service desk as sometimes customers can get infuriating and you may end up talking in loops however you have to work at the customers pace to get real progress made.

Social skills:
As someone working on a service desk you always need to be helpful and friendly to your customers just as you would your parents or friends.

Technical skills:
You must be knowledgeable about the topic you are to be dealing with and must have some knowledge other than the flow chart in front of you to deal with unexpected questions.

Willingness to learn:
Times will always be changing and as such so will technology, so you as a service desk manger need to keep up to date with the changing tech and work hard to always be ahead of the customer’s knowledge by setting aside time to learn and research yourself.
